Tax Collector
Overview
The Tax Collector is responsible for the printing, mailing and collection of all tax bills issued by the Town of Alford. These include: Motor Vehicle Excise Tax, Real Estate Tax and Personal Property Tax.
The Tax Collector’s office issues and maintains a record of Municipal Lien Certificates to be filed at the Registry of Deeds in Great Barrington. The Treasurer serves as Custodian of Funds of all Town monies. Cash management, investment management, and debt management are also among the Treasurer’s responsibilities.
The Treasurer/Tax Collector’s Office hours are Monday through Thrusday from 8am to 1pm.
