Seekonk Brook Marsh Trail Project - 04/20/2021
The Select Board is very pleased to announce that Alford is the recipient of a Mass DOT Shared Winter Streets and Spaces Grant in the amount of $24,002 to create the Seekonk Brook Marsh Trail Project on the Parsonage property, 9 Alford Center Road. This is not a matching grant. The award will cover the entire cost of the project.
The ADA-compliant walking trail will provide a safe way to observe the Wetlands.
Greenagers will be preparing the site this Monday the 26th of April by clearing the area of trash and invasives. Trail construction will begin in mid-May.
The Select Board would like to thank Julie Scott and Tricia Bevan for spearheading the project, writing the grant proposal and performing all of the attendant work to bring it to fruition.
