GREEN CDC Community Level

On March 14, 2022, the Alford Selectboard revised their mask and building use policy to reflect the current CDC’s COVID-19 Community Level.  The COVID-19 Community Level is a tool to help communities decide what prevention steps to take based on the latest data.  Levels can be low, medium or high and are determined by looking at hospital beds being used, hospital admissions, and the total number of new COVID-19 cases in an area.  The designation level is updated every Thursday by 8 pm ET on the CDC COVID-19 Community Level by County Map page.

Using this tool, the Town of Alford adopts the following COVID-19 mitigation strategies at each of the following COVID-19 Community Level:

GREEN

  • Town Offices are open to the public
  • Masking is not required in indoor nor outdoor spaces
  • Town Hall use requests must be approved by Select Board

YELLOW

  • Town offices are open to the public
  • Masking in indoor public spaces recommended when social distancing cannot be maintained
  • Ventilation should be maintained throughout indoor spaces whenever possible
  • Town Hall use requests must be approved by Select Board and should include measures for COVID-19 mitigation

RED

  • Town offices are restricted to appointment only
  • Masks will be required indoors in public when social distancing cannot be maintained
  • Town Hall use may be limited, and requests submitted to Select Board must include measures for COVID-19 mitigation

The Alford Select Board/BOH continues to recommend residents remain up to date on their vaccines and take special care to protect those who are immunocompromised or high risk for severe disease.  Please contact our BOH Agent, Jayne Smith at jespublichealth@gmail.com if you have any questions or would like access to additional education and resources.
