Native Plants

The planting of perennials along the Seekonk Brook Marsh Trail behind the Parsonage has been completed!  Thank you to all the folks who showed up and pitched in to make this such a successful community event.  Now, and for generations to come, Alfordians can stroll the 500 foot long path in the heart of our town enjoying nature, meeting neighbors along the path, and discovering a quiet bench upon which to sit and contemplate.

Bridghe from Helia gave a highly informative presentation on the profound benefits of native plantings and how much more resilient such perennials are when matched to our native soil and weather.  I am including a link to an abridged version of Bridghe's presentation in case you missed the event but would like to understand our local ecosystem.
